About Amovie

Amovie is an editorial film database. Every title has a structured record: full cast with character names, crew, runtime, certification, release date, studio, country, language, genres and themes.

The catalogue currently holds 30 movies and 327 people. Every credited name has its own page with a complete filmography drawn from those records, so a performer's work can be read across the whole catalogue rather than one title at a time.

How the data is organised

Films are indexed on four axes: genre, theme, decade and studio. Themes describe what a film is about rather than which shelf it sits on, which is what makes it possible to move sideways between titles that share a preoccupation without sharing a genre.

Corrections

Records are maintained by hand. If a credit is wrong or missing, the fix belongs in the source dataset rather than the page.
